University of the Aegean makes Samos as Science and Culture Centre

Conference and Summer School Egovernment Festival “MUSIC AND ARTS DAYS SAMOS”

Experts in information technology and governance from Greece, Europe and the Americas will participate in the 7th International Summit with Samos Summit theme “Governance and Informatics”, held from 3 to 8 July in Karlovasi Samou. The meeting will feature original solutions and research projects in the areas of smart cities, E-services for Citizens and Businesses, open Data, training of public sector executives. Parallel initiatives will be presented and original applications of students of the University of the Aegean to the island of Samos.

The participation of the younger generation of scientists in the international summit meeting takes place through the organisation of the 4th summer school in Open and Collaborative Governance “Governance” Open and Collaborative, which groups together researchers and students from all over the world with an interest in the field of eGovernment, giving them the opportunity to interact with internationally renowned academics, researchers and entrepreneurs.

For the first time this year, week 3-8 July and in parallel with the Conference and summer school governance, organized in Karlovasi the Festival of music and arts “SAMOS AND ARTS MUSIC DAYS”, which includes high-level concerts classical music performers, performances of traditional dances samiwtikwn, samiwtikwn wine tasting as well as workshops and exhibitions of photography, painting and sound in digital format. All Festival events are free of charge for the public.

Yannis Charalambidis, Associate Professor of the University in information and communication Engineering Department based in Karlovasi, and Chairman of the Conference, said: “we are particularly pleased that for the seventh year the Samos will be for a few days at the Centre of developments in e-Government. At the same time, with the “Samos Arts and Music Days ‘ we hope to offer the local community but also to the guests and visitors of the island high level cultural experiences. We look forward to seeing you all at free events. “
